for trial. Bonds were respectively
.set at S10,000 for Collins Sr. and
S5,000 for Collins Jr., nd both
posted 10-percent and are out on
bond. The charge of conspiracy to
carry a concealed weapon i a felony
punishable upon conviction by up to
five years impri onment,
Robert Collins Sr. i alleged to
have shot Green fter seeing him
aiming a gun at another restaurant
patron. Tague has indicated that he
will tum over all evidence gathered
in the case to FBI agents for po ible
federal civil rights charge against
both Collins.
CHARLES FAIR of 440 Over
brook, Muskegon Heights, sub
mitted the recall petition to
Mu kegon County Clerk Ruth
., Stevens on Friday, July 5. If the peti
tion language is approved next week
I ( Y the county elections comm ion,
those seeking tbe reatJI of1iguc will
have 90 day to collect enough valid
Signa to remove him from of
fice.
Two reasons are given for the
recall of 18gue:
-' Tague's premature an
nouncement that the homicide of
Green was justifiable prior to com
pletion of an investigation by the
Muskegon Police Department.
- 18gue's rei uctancy to attend a
county board invitation on July 2 to
answer specific questions or discuss
issues encompassing the shooting.
In order to place the question of
whether Tague should be recalled on
a countywide ballot, 10,942 signa
tures must be collected.
