from chool principal Dr.
Gerald Golden.
With the presentation of
diplomas, the arena was filled
with clapping and shouts of
support for the students walk­
ing to obtain a document which
was the culmination of a 12-
year learning experience.
A tearful Dara Johnson took

Valedictorian ddress (she has
a 3.96 GPA). She reminisced
about seniors trying to push
them around when they were
freshmen, and how hard it was
finding classes.

keynote address.

stone in your life, you have only
just begun, said Archer.
, He urged the graduates to
do something to make High­

world a better place to live
He said they can contribute to
society by voting or running for
political office.
He talked about the
problems of Black-on-Black
crime and the school dropout
rate for Black males.
. He told the graduates, "We
must let people know we've

drugs and learning discipline.
"Our senior year was fun but
we must go our separate ways,"
she said, and they went their
separate ways while two
classmates sung "That's What
Friends Are For" during the
recessional, to face the future
responsibilities of high school
graduates.
