'World War II Memorie Sought.

Secretary of State Richard H.
Austin, is asking Michiganians
to share some of their viv id
memories of World War II.
"Michigan residents who
remember the bombing of Pearl
Harbor and World War II are in­
vited to submit article and brief
recollection to Michigan His­
tory Magazine, the state's most
popular history magazine,"
Secretary Austin said. Selected
article will be included in a
special November/December
issue, commemorating the 50th
anniversary of he bombing of
Pearl Harbor.
"World War, II affected the
lives of most Americans,
whether a person was stationed
overseas or stateside, worked in
a war supplies factory or held
down the homefront," Se�re tary
Austin added. "In thi special
issue of the magazine, we want
to capture a variety of aspects of
the wartime effort."

to articles or memories of the
battlefield, reaction to the

Caring is an art. Capturing the essenc of caring is the
challenge of this photography cont sponsored by the
Caring Institute and the Eastman Kodak Company. The
purpose of this project is to inspire the creation of images that
peak from heart to heart. What is caring? How do you
capture a concept and activity so fundamental to our li¥ and
society?
Photos ubmitted to the fourth annual Art of Caring
Photography � will be reviewed by an independent
panel of judges headed by photographer Yousuf Karsh,
actress Susan Sullivan, and ABC-1V Director of Photography,
East Coast, Brent Petersen.
Photographs will be reproduced in publications eX the
Caring Institute. They will be placed on exhibit in the Caring
Hall in Washington, D.C. Those photographs that are Jud8ed
best photographically as to what caring means will be
recognized and rewarded ($175, First Place; $150, Second
Plac ; and $125,. Third Place).
Participants may submit more than one entry. 1bere is no
entry fee but each ubmission must include a completed enb'y
form. All entri must be received by Friday. August 9, 1991.
