Good morning, Detroit. This
is Joella Likely. She is reading·
the prayer list on the Hollywood
Fashion Gospel Hour.
For 16, 17,18 and sometimes
20 minutes, Likely reads the
hand written names that are
compiled by three people. Oc

REVEREND ALLEN,
WHO is the host of the Sunday
morning broadcast, is al 0 an
Associate Minister at New Star
light Baptist Church.
His brand of broadcasting is
flavored with the deep South.
He talks about bathing in num
ber three tin tubs, pig feet, yam
and tatters. He syncopates the
playing of a record by the late
Sister Rosetta Tharp with, "Play
that guitar woman. Play it."
Sunday mornings: fifty two
times a year, Likely, a mistress
of ceremony at different chur
ches, volunteers her lime. She
does what she believes God
wants her to do.
