Recognizing the importance
of reversing the economic and
social crisis affecting Black
families, four African American
fraternal organizations have
formed an alliance to work
toward solution to the
problems of crime, employ­
ment, and education.
Omega Psi Phi, Alph Phi
Alpha, Kappa Alpha P i, and
Phi Beta Sigma fraternities,
have joined together as the
OAKS Alliance, an organiza­
tion that will bring special
perspective to major problems
now affecting the Black com­
munity.
For the' past year, the OAKS
organization has been working
with "at-risk" African American
males in the 5th-8th grades, and
their parents at Spain Middle
School. "At-risk" means that
these boys are low achievers.
