Kenyatta Shepherd, 10 years
old, and a 5th grader at
Volunteer Center today.

is seeking a volunteer driver
to pick up nd take back
home individuals who attend
the adult meetings on
Thursday afternoon in the
agency's van. The volunteer
would work on an on-call

Schools and organizations
arc encouraged to work with
local MADD chapters in con­
ducting a contest whenever
possible, or to conduct their
own competition.
If there is no local contest,
individual students are in­
vi ted to ubmit their entrie
directly to the state conte 1..
State winning entries are
entered into the national con­
test. To date, Michigan has
had four national winners.
Not only does the contest
provide many opportunities
for tudent to win cash
prizes, but each student in the
tate event i cknowledged
for his or her effort by a letter
of recognization and a par­
ticipation ribbon!
The contest is designed to
give tudents an opportunity
to exercise their creativity
while raising awarenes
among their peers to the
danger of drunk and drugged
driving and offer students
with varied abillues and in­
terest to be throughful and
expressive in writing and/or
the visual art .
