Whole Nille". The hun y ex­
rapper struck platinum with
his first album, "111 Effect
ModeH, but despite a string of
hit, critics dogged Al aying
he looked good but couldn't
really sing. Well, he's ready
to put that reputation out to
pasture.
AI B. Sure' got a new at­
titude nd he's ready for the
big leagues. Surprisingly
enough, he is the first to
admit, "I never claimed to be
Luther Vandro s. I was a rap­
per from Mount Vernon who
could hold a melody, write
songs and I could do all that
o the r stu ff and I decided,
'hey, this might work."
Still. after his first outing
in the potlight.Al decided to
get on it vocally. He spent the
tast three years working with
vocal coaches and it shows
on hi new album. Al credit
Quincy with helping him find
his potential a a vocali t.
"A a producer, he's in-,
credible", says AI.' He lets
you do what you can do, and
omctimes he let you do
thi ng you' don't know you
can do. All of a sudden you
get thi' whole .new thing
going on that you never knew
you had."
Along with strengthening
hi vocals, AI B. Sure
stretched out a a songwriter
and producer on' his new
album. You can hear
Quincy' influence on AI in a
