Manager Steve Manning con­
sensu approval to pay
Michael Green, an agent with
the Ne Yor Life Insurance
Company. $100 for his ser­
vice in a isting the City in
getting life insur nee.
Manning presented the
commis ion a letter from
Green. dated September 18,
stating that he a withdraw­
ing hi reque t for payment of
$500 for professional ser-
I vices, but M nning recom­
mended that Green be paid
S 100 for hi service to the
city.

behalf of the city in securing

At the September 11, com­
mission meeting Green was
present demanding a fee of
S500 for his service. He aid
he had cont cted carriers for
the City by the request of the
City Manager. Manning
didn't deny that he had a ked
Green for help in assi ting
the City in finding in urance ,
Several of the commis­
sioners said it wouldn't be
fair to pay Green.for his ser- -
vices, when the other agent
weren't getting paid.
The commission had voted
to postpone the matter and
a ked that Manning and the
City' Finance Director
Michael Vance try and solve
the matter.
Voting in favor of the pay­
ment were, Mayor William
Wolf, Commissioners Fred
Sims: Hershel Mc Ke nz ie ,
R Iph Crenshaw, and Steve
Wooden.

Economic Development for
funds to make improvement
to BL-I-94/Main Street from
the Bicentenni I Bridge to
the eastern approach to Paw
Paw Avenue and those con­
necting streets to the Heath
Company ue. The project
will cost approximately. S4.6
million, calling for
$1,145.000 matching grant.
according to Manning.
The construction of the
project will hegin in the
spring of 1992 or early sum­
mer, said Manning. _
Manning said the econd
project is to reconstruct
Marke t Street. from 12th
Street to Riverview Drive.
Stating the cost of thi
project will he $210,000 of
which S52.500 will be a local
hare, in which the fundings
will come from the
Downtown Development
Authority (ODA).
