The fourth student, LaMesha Harper. a charming
Honor's tuden , also, spoke eloquently about the need
for literacy programs in II of the m 11 churches in
Detroit. She ha already spo en with her pastor and
they are beginning to look into a �iter cy program at her
church.

Thursday, July 12 at 8am a weekly Highland Park
Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to
order in meeting room at the Sears department
store in Highland Park.
The meeting was hosted by Ron Batey and
attended by various Highland Park shop owners
and managers.
In this meeting they discu sed the re ults of the
"Shop in Highland Park" campaign and
establishing a retailers group. .
In these meetings they discu s tbings tbat can help
bot the shop and tbe citizens of Highland Park.
