During the DDA portion of the meeting. Director Aaron Anthony d iscu ed with the board members a resol ution approved recently by the Benton Harbor City Commission, where the city entered into a contract agreement I with Klett Construction Co .• of Hartford, Michigan, in the. amount of $108,294.60 for street and parking improvements in the downtown area. Anthony aid the re olution tated that funding was to be provided from DDA and the MiChigan Urban Land Assembly Lo n for the orth of Main lnd trial Par . Anthony said he wanted to. inform the boa rd tha t approximatel y $82,672.70 of the . $10&294.60 would be funded by DDA. The project includes: S29, 747 .20 for Sixth Street (Main-Water); S 14.883.60 for, Fourth Street (Main-Territorial); $11,558.80 for the parking Jot next to the Liberty Th ter: and $26.482.50 for the Wall Street si te project. According to Anthony, CHlDAEN'S - THUA 10-7: WCHARTERS INC. Sixth and Fourth Streets would be top priority. Anthony said the project would be $26,482.50 less depending on the outcome of a ettlement of a lawsuit filed against the City of Benton Harbor by Charles Kelly for illegal demolition of his property at n Wall Street. At the June 4th. Benton Harbor City Commi ion meeting when the contract wa approved, City Manager Steve Manning said $32,000 of the funds w coming from Michigan Urban Land Assembly Loan. In other matters, Kevin Clements. chairman of the Project Committee for DDA. gave the board an update on the Liberty Threater.
