two of the 14 fire fighters were
minoritie , though tbe depart

Parnell tated minorities do
follow in the footsteps of rela
tives also, but not as many. He"
indicated minorities have only
recently been dmitted into the
fire department in large num
bers, and prior to 1958, BI CD
did not receive pplications at
all.
