The union is asking the city
for a $1.00 an hour across the
board pay raise next year and
wants to have the Friday after

Manning said the city is not
against a $1.00 an hour - or
across the board increase or "we
are not against a $2.00 an hour
increase. We are not against
giving them an additional
holiday, we are not against
them four or me addi­
tioaa} holidays. The problem

negotiative settlement," Man­
ningsaid.
When they come out of the
mediation se ion Monday,
Manning said;he hoped that an
agreement would be reached.
'We have made it clear of what
we are looking for and there's'
no surprises - are being
finn, but I think we are being
fair and we're being honest," he
added.
