In response to Wysinger's demands for the firing of Public Safety Director Sam Watson, Manning passed out a release that said Watson bas been per­ forming an outstanding job of protecting the citizens and busi­ nesses in the city, saying. Wat­ son was "out there fighting crime" with the other officer, no silting at home.
