George Bush's Executive Order

Before his appointment in
August, 1989, Goodwin had
been active in higher education,
the Blac press and church. He
was assistant deputy chancellor
of the Texas A&M University
system and associte vice-presi­
dent of- Prairier View Stale
University in Houston. Good­

editor of the family owned
newspaper, the Oklahoma

Roberts University.
The Rev. Dr. William P. De­
Veaux is pastor of the historic
etropolitan AME Church

1838 when African American
members of the white Ebenezer
ethodist Chruch became dis­

members of the AME church in
Philad lphia.
