fiscated .in addition of ap­
proximately $3,000 in cash."
After the meeting Watson
said that the Police force was
being overrun with calls and he
. fell that it was lime to "make a
move" and stop some of the
crime.

PURCHASES
In other busine the com­
mi. ion voted unanimously to
buy four more properties in the
North of Main Industrial Par
area for a total of $58,000.
The our properties, located
on MiUer Street, are needed to
provide space for Industrial
businesses to build.
According to Mayor William
Wolf there are approximately
10 more properties left in the
North of Main area that the city
needs to purchase.
Two other property owner
in the North of ain area
refused to accept the offer
made by the city in August. The

City is taking them to court to
acquire the property by eminent
domain. The properties are lo­
cated at 297 Second and 392
Riford, owned by Eunice

Lena Ciaravino.
The city's deadline for ac­
quiring the properties is Labor

The Region Four Are
Agency on Aging, in response
to numerous phone calls from
concerned older persons, h
announced that the problems of
its nutrition subcontractor will
not affect other senior
program.
The are Management
project and cnior Employ­
ment Program, operated direct­
ly by the Area Agency on Aging
(AAA), and home car , legal
assi tance, transportation,
respite care, physical fitness,
and ombudsman project, the
AAA's other subcontr cted
programs, will continue without
interruption or decrease in er­
vice.
When the AAA ub-
contracts with a community
agency, a istinct budget is set
solely for that service. The
budget dilemmas experienced
by Senior Nutrition Services,
which operates the local nutri­
tion program, does not affect
the budgets of other scrvie
provided through AAA fund­
ing, officials say.
The Area Agency n Aging
also assured s niors that the
nutrition p� gram will be back
irr full operation October 1.
According to Bob Dolsen,
Executive Director of the Area
Agency, "Unfortunately, the
Area Agen was no notified of
the extent of enior Nutrition
ervice ' overspending until too
late to prevent cutb cks in ser­
vice , but did intervene in time
to avoid a complete shutdown.
The generous grant from the
Upton Foundation' and 0 her
contributions have helped sof­
ten the impact appreciably."
The Board of Directors of
Senior Nutrition Services has
worked hard to get service
levels in line wi fiscal realties,
and the Area Agency is . ting
Senior Nutrition Services in ap­
plying administrative measures
to prevent future disruptions in
service.
