The Benton Harbor voters
showed a poor turnout at the
Tuesday, August 8, primary
election. According to Benton
Harbor City Cler 's office, only
5.8% of the city's registered
voters turned out to vote.
Challenger Eddie Marshall
with 129 votes will be dropped
from the baUot in the Nov. 7
general election. ,
The eight that will duel for
the four four-year terms are: in

Michael Govatos, with 270
votes; challenger Hershel Mc
Kenzie, 260 vo es; incumbent
Commissioner Arnold Smith,

ment Authority (DDA) and the
Tax Increment Finance
Authority (TIFA) board failed
again to have a quorum at their
