Dull aght Backstage: This year's Grammy's cer-
tainly had its share of controversies, what with the
boycotting of the rap delegation, and the discord
due to th absence from the nomination process
of those like Bobby Brown and Keith Sweat who
experienced smash success, and yet were over-
100 ed in the Emmy nominating process. Quite a
slat in the face. Then there was the show's star
studded lineup which devoid of the color
(with just the performance of one R&B act-
Luther Vandross), that usually sets the pace. Still,
hatever the reason, the atmosphere backstage
was duD, save for the appearance of Al Green, The
. Boys and Take 6 who provided to be lively diver
sions. Then, of course, everyone commented on.

SettlD The Record Straight: Terrie Williams,
Eddie Murphy's publicist, who was b ckstage,
wanted to set the record straight on the infamous
incident that took place between Eddie Murphy
and Michael' Jackson onstage at the American
Music Awards. According to WiDiams, the inci
dent was blown totally out of proportion. 'The two
of them have developed friendship over the last
four to five months, and it wasn't at all what it was
made out to be. Eddie and Michael are friends."

AmOS'D' Andy to Surface On Broadway? A Ne 1,_
York federal appeals court has set the stage for' .
"Amos'n' Andy- to open on Broadway. The ..
decision overturned as lower court's ruling, thus
granting play wright Stephen Silverman permis- '
sion to create a musical based on Amon'n' Andy"

court declared pre-1948 "Amos'n' Andy" shows to
be public domain. Silverman has already enlisted
a director and has a full-blown musical score for .
the Broadway version, which in now tentatively
titled "Fresh Air Taxi" named after that taxi Amons
