The only Way to accomplish this
task is by establishing a work

Without such a plan your
financial steps could lack direc

result will be that you will be

G And Dea I • Simply
stated you must have a pretty
good idea of what you want out
of 1989 before you can establish
a plan for achieving those goals.
In addition, your financial
desires must be stated fairly
specifically. Statements such as
"I want to be bett r off financial
ly" mean absolutely nothing. Be
sides such a statement con
stitutes a wish DOt a financial
goal Be specific, For example:
"I want to increase the balance
in my savings accoun by $10,000
no later than October 1, 1989."
o that's' a financial goal!
Further, you have given yourself
a deadline. Goals have only
been established once you have
set a deadline for achieving:
them.
- Get tarted I eli Iy.
The companion to setting a
deadline for achieving your
financial goals is to set a date to
start working on them. That's
right, the day to start i today.
Remember, the biggest fman
cial sin committed by most
peopl is procrastination - the
failure to get started. As soon as
you say I'll get started on this as
soon as I pay next month's rent",
you are already half way to

of all, what is your net monthly
income or take home pay?
Secondly, what are your total
monthly expenses? Most people
know how much they earn but
only a few people know exactly
how their money is spent. Yes,
you may know the big expenses
but a lot of money is wasted on
impulse buying and unplanned
purchases. However, the
keypoint here is that monthly
net income should exceed total
monthly expenses by at least
10%. Stated differently, you
should be saving 10% of every
dollar you earn.

Of Inc e. The sad fact in
America is that the overwhelm
ing majority of jobs do not pay
enough to provide a family with
financial security. In other
words, you could discipline
yourself to the point of saving
10% of y ur monthly income
and still not have enough to
begin enj ying am re financial-

We continue to recommend
joining an investment club or a
walth building group. A 35-
member investment club can
achieve wonders with each
member contributing only $25 a
month. Better still is the f rma
tion of a wealth-building group
which sponsors money-making
events. We believe that this is
absolutely the best way to make
your money grow without drain
ingyour savings

remain no more than dreams if
