phasis on the lates techniques in
marketing. leadership, develop
ment, motivatin and community
organization, the NAACP has
initated a Membership Univer
sity at its headquarters in Bal
timore that will provide training
for its volunteer leadership from
across the country, according to
Dr. Benjamin 1... Hoo , ExeQ1-
tive Director ofth NAACP.
Th first session was held
over the eekend of May 13th
and 14th. Attending were some
50 volunteers who will fill key
roles in the AACP's ational
radiothon scheduled for Satur
day, eptember 24, 1988.
An extensiYe curricular was
developed for the initial session
and covered such areas as the
. recruiting, training and reten
tion of volunteers, how to or
ganize a radiothon, etc. A
similar session will be held in
June for approximately the same
number of volunteers.
Participants will return to
their home cities where they will
share their training with other
volunteers who will take part in
the Radiothon - the first such
effort under ta en by the
AACP.
