The Episcopal Dioce e of
Michigan will host Michigan's
Third Faith and Resistance
Retreat, April 4-7, in response
the growing number of
mainstream Christians who are
feeling compelled by their faith
in God to take 'strong ction in
oppo tion to the nuclear arms
race.
There have been as many as a
dozen Faith and Resistance
Retreats through ut the United
States and hundreds of people
have, crossed lines at nuclear
sites and been arrested to show"
their dis ent according to a
spokesperson.
In Michigan, the first two
retreat: were ho ed by Bishop
Ken Untener, of. the roman
Catholic Diocese of Sagina ,
and by Judith Craig, United
Methodist Bishop of Michigan.
Both those retreats . ncluded
several days of Bibl study,
reflection and prayer. B th con
cluded with some 8 or 90
people crossing the ine at
Wurtsmith Airforce B in Os
coda, MI, where nuclear cruise
missiles are deployed.
The 1988 Michigan aith and
