for hungry
United Against Hunger, Inc.
(U AH) is conducting a food
drive in Berrien, Cass and Van
Buren counties from March 1-
15, according to Alex Okay,
U AH president. Donated food
will be used to supplement avail­
able supplies of the emergency
food providers in Southwestern
Michigan.
The goal for this food drive is
10,000 pounds of food before
March 15. Okay said, "That the
Easter holiday is always a time
of need because the winter heat­
ing season has drained the
re ources of those in need."
Okay said, "Donations of
nonperishable food may be
dropped off at, the Ruth Gar­

Bev is a nurse in The Family Birthing Center at
Mercy-Memorial M� Center. She's part of a special
program called Mother-Baby Couplet Care.
Bevs job is to take a special interest in you and your
baby - to treat you tike a family unit from those first
precious moments until you go home.
Bev will make sure you have your baby with you as
much as you tike. She'll also �Ip you and your family
learn how to give your baby the tender care it will need.
Because Couplet Care includes the whole family, no
just the mother and the baby. \
When you have a new baby, you need lots of support
from people who care for you, Bev - or one of the
other nurses at The Family Birthing Ceo er - will be ·
looking after you and your baby in her � special way.
And that makes her practically part of the family.
