Brooks of Detroit will perform in the Michgian State University Performing Arts Company production of Sh espeare's "The Taming of the Sherew.· The cia sic comedy takes pi ce in 16th century Italy, t the home of Baptista Minola and his two beautiful daughter . Minol is trying to marry off his elder, shrewish daughter, Kate. Petruchio, a man ttracted to her dowry, believes he can marry and tame her, and the two engage in a classic battle of the sexes. Meanwhile, Biaca, the younger d ughter, is being wooed by a number of suitors, who must disguise themselves in order to get close to her. Lucen­ tio and Hortensio are two such rival suitors, and their attempts to fool everyone make for some hilarious situations. Brooks plays Patricia, a flir­ tatious servant in the Minola house. A senior at MSU, Brooks is the daughter of Wylodene Brooks, 13367 Prest St., Detroit. She graduated from Cooley High School in 1983. "The Taming of the Shrew" will be presented on the Festival Stage of MSU's Wharton Center for Performing Arts, on ov. 13, 14, 14,20 and 21. Two Detroi students named to SU homecoming court EAST LANSING - Michelle Busby and Savior Moss of Detroit were two of 10 students nominated to the 1987 Homecoming Court at Michigan State University. The court was featured in the traditional parade and several other activities during MSU's Homecoming festivities, Oct. 20-24, centering on the theme "Holiday at MSU.· Busby, home address is 3807 Leslie, Detroit. She graduated from Cody High School. Moss, a senior majoring in accounting. was sposored by the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Besides being an active member of that organization, she belongs to the Minority Business Stu­ dents Association and the a­ tional Association of Black Ac­ countants. Moss is the daughter of Essie Moss, 4485 W. Outer Dr., Detroit. She graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1983.
