2.5 million launches
Devco and Highland
Par developmen

ler Corp. officials met Oct. 8

Highland Par Devco Corp.

ler's director, government af­
fairs, said, "The Highland
Par Devco Corporation was
created and funded toensure
the economic well being for
the future of Highland Park."

a check for $2.5 million to the
Highland Par Devco Corp.
The check was the first of
three installments from Chrys­
ler.
"Contributions alone will
total 5 million over the next
three year ," Glusac said. "The
purpose is development of
job , businesses, job creations
and tax returns for the city of
Highland Par ."
Mayor Blackwell called it a
"great day" for Highland Park.
"This kind of technicalstaff
and money into this project
twlls you it's for real," Black­
well said. "We're going to see
orne rapid developments and
I thin we're all going to be
proud. It's going to mean alot
to merchants, busienss people
and to the residents of High­
land Park."
Mayor Blackwell said he is
pleased and excited about the
group of professionals Chrys­
ler has hired to be consultants
to the Devco project. •

Town Center Plaza, the site at
Manchester, Woodward,
Second and Sears.
Glusac, a former mayor of
Highland Park, said Chrysler
and Devco have made a com­
mittment to assist Highland
Park with various projects in
Lansing, including the
Davison Expressway project,
which he said the state
"promised to build some 20
years ago."
Glusac called the Davison
Expressway "perhaps the most
dangerous stretch of road in
the state of Michigan." He
believes its improvement
could greatly affect the city.
