by all ichigan departments.

However, prior to 1980 very

minority-owned or woman-
o ned busine Public Act
428 require the State of ichi
gao to nd minimum of
12 percent of its billion-dollar
budget with minority-owned or
woman-owned busine s. The
Act also requires each depart
ment to outline ways it will
accommodate subcontr ctors
and joint ventures to meet the
goals which the Act e tablished.
Public Act 428 i having a
positive effect, according to the
Department of Civil Rights' for
example, while minority and
woman-owned busine
obtained 34.8 million in state
contracts in 1982, that number
grew to 113.8 million in
1985.

by September 28, 1987. Your
busine will be included in the
directory of minority and
woman-owned businesses in the
Tri-county Area and, if your
busine meets the eligibility
and ard s, it m y be certified
and placed on a registry that is
distributed to all 19 state
dep rtments. Procurement
officer in those departments

Their cry is 'Let freedom ring
and let me do my thing," but

why not? Who el would d pay
the cost and not be the bo ?
Whether male or female the
answer is the same. The pro
blem is ju as great and the
love ju as available. The
negative forces have good poten
tial with no formal thoughts
for the future. They look to the
power that be to prepare the
meal pay the bill , keep the
establishment clean maintain
clothing, allowances, and pocket
money issurance.
For those of you who feel
distraught and ready to throw
in the towel, hold on! I can
