She joined the staff on July 14 1986. ' A 1974 graduate of Three Rivers High School, she was the Salutatorium of her class, �aduated from Olivet College with honors in 1978, and went on to graduate from the in­ diana University School of edicine. She took her Pediatric Residency at Butterworth, Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. .or. Hicks enjoys playing the piano and tennis. E ementary teacher enters eighth year in schoo system Linda Ross of Three Rivers, does �ot stand for any foolish­ ness m her classroom, She is an excellent teacher having taught at the Hoppin Elemen­ tary School in Three Rivers for eight years. Ross is a 1976 graduate of Three Rivers High School She attended Michigan State University. OUT THREE RIVERS WAY By Vera White Linda was united in mar­ riage in February 1985. She. has coached girls basket­ ball in the system for eight years. Linda enjoys all sports and biking. Local C reh awa ds scholarships The Bethel Baptist Church of Three Rivers recently awarded seven scholarships to college students. Four of the seven recipients were Bridget Berry, Jules Reynolds, Sherri White and Raechel Williams. .The students were recog­ ruzed for their continuous ser­ vice in the church. Bethel has made scholarship a ards continuously since 1980. Rev. Bobby Joe Tolbert is the pastor. Dowagiac The T. ZIO BAPTIST Church, 100 Miller Street Dowagiac, Michigan held i� 30th year Anniversary celebrat­ ion September 16-20 with many guests in attendance. Mt. Zion wa organized in ovember 1957 by the Rev. John McAfe . The first rvice was held in the home of Tommie White on Ashland Street in Dowagiac. The cond service wa held in Rev. Butler' church on Bud- low. st. They continued having rvices there for veral months. The former pastor were: Rev. John McAfee, Rev. Lee alker, Rev. T.D. Elmore, Rev. Leroy Cobb, Rev. Herbert Willis and Rev. EJ. Jones. Under the leadership of Rev. T .D. Elmore, in 1959 they purchased the lot on 100 Miller Street, Dowagiac, and the church wa built and fully organized.
