Reader on School Board II Dear Editor: It appears as if our hool board i at it again. The buying out of the Superintendent' con tract did not solve their pro blems. Their inab ility to come to gether long enough to elect officers is proof enough that this board can no longer funct ion as a board. This board cannot and will n t heal unless certain individuals are removed. The entire hool system is being affected by their in ability to work cooperatively. Unfortunately the real issue in this controversy is no t the Superintendent, nor the admini strators, nor the teachers bu t the real issue is the children who for me strange rea n have been pushed far into the background. That 4-3 split has become the' symbol of a strategic power struggle which fulfills the ego needs of certain and individuals regard le of hat s best for the students. ot allowing the Superintendent the privilege to officiate at the high school graduation is a classic example of not considering the feeling and intere of the udents. ot only ha the board own sense of uncaring for the tudents but it ha shown a blatant disrespect for the tax payers. Their poor decision making has cost the tax payers in exce s of 300 000.00 as a result of the following actions: 1. Buyout of Sup rinten dent's Contract. 2. Hiring an cting uper- intendent and istant. 3. Retiring them both at their highest salary. 4. Hiring a consultant to find a new uperintendent. 5.
