The Men's Forum would
like to take this opportunity to
salute the memory of Alvin D.
Casey 1925-1976.
Last Sunday, August 9, at 3
p.m. Highland Park said,
thanks to Casey in a memorial
dedication of the Alvin D.
Casey Memorial Park. At
Hamilton and Monterey
streets in Highland Park.
Councilman Linsey Porter
proposed naming the
playgrond as a memorial to
Casey several months ago with
the full support of the ad
ministration and fellow coun
cil members. Councilman
Porte also, assembled the
committee and is to be com

Par ers for his fervent love
and devotion to the youth of
our community.
Mr. Casey was generous
with his time and energies and
because of his love of sports
he organized and participated
on many youth basketball and
softball teams that were active
in the Highland Park Recrea
tion Program.
Mr. Casey could always be
found in a gym, or on a
baseball field, or a playground
sharing his time, talents and
abilities by teaching the fun
damentals of sports to young
people.
Through his love for our
youth he was able to tum their
energies from delinquency to
participation in positive
programs of community better- I
