Youngsters from preschool age
through seventh grade will enjoy
finding out how to fix healthy
snacks. .. how to brush their teeth
properly. .. and how to respect
the rights of animals in the wild.
A lively group of puppets will
remind your children not to talk
to strangers play with potential
poisons or cross the street without
looking both ways.
We'll have games and giveaways
clowns and balloons - and lots
of ways for parents to help their
kids live long and healthy lives.

City Hall watchers say
Cooke's arrogance, his stack­
ing of city government with
relatives, constant trips at tax­
payer expense, and his desire
to become a paid, full-time
mayor led to his defeat
The recent cutbacks in the
public safety department also
upset vo ers, sources say. The
city has recently laid off three
firefighters and two police of­
ficers to save money.
According to Rochelle
Long. deputy cler only 1,559
voters, or 15 percent of the
city's 10,306 registered voters,
cast ballots in Tuesdays elec­
tion. In June's millage elec­
tion, only 5.5 percent of the
oters came to the polls.
