from which to choose in the
September 15 primary elec­
tion, according to Deputy
Cler Mattie Carter.
With only two candidates
each for the office of treasurer
and clerk, there will be no
primary election for those of­
fices, Carter said
Meeting the July 28 filing
deadline for the office of
mayor wece: incumbent
Mayor Robert Blackwell seek­
ing a fifth, four-year term.
Also seeking the $52,541 a
year post are James Ray Chap-
pie, II Farrand Par ; Goffrey
Franklin, 234 Puritan and in­
cumbent Council President
Martha G. Scott, 75 Rhode Is­
land
