earned at Columbia University
and her Ph.D. is from
Michigan State University. In
1975 she journeyed to the
University of Colorado on sab­
batical. Awarded a Fulbright
Scholarship in 1982, sh visited
three African Countries:
Liberia, Senegal and Sierra
Leone.
She and her late husband
George, are the parents of
David, a jazz musician current­
ly residing in Boston.
