of 21 neighborhood councils
in the city to give citizens
greater feeling of community
responsibility and upgrade the
quality of life in the city. In
October city-wide convention
of delegates from the neighbor
hood councils will develop
long-term plan for the organiza
tion, elect a board of directors
and agree on a agenda for city
improvement.
ISE is a non-profit organi
zation developed as a result
of the ichigan State Univer
sity/Benton Harbor Project, It
is also sponsored by Andrews
University, Lake Mich' an Col
lege, the Benton Harbor Public
Library, the Private Industry
Council the Berrien County
Cooper tive Extension Service
and the Berrien Community
Foundation.
