ISE is creating a network
of 21 neighborhood councils
in the city to give citizens
greater feeling of community
responsibility and upgrade the
quality of life in the city. In
October city-wide convention
of delegates from the neighbor­
hood councils will develop
long-term plan for the organiza­
tion, elect a board of directors
and agree on a agenda for city
improvement.
ISE is a non-profit organi­
zation developed as a result
of the ichigan State Univer­
sity/Benton Harbor Project, It
is also sponsored by Andrews
University, Lake Mich' an Col­
lege, the Benton Harbor Public
Library, the Private Industry
Council the Berrien County
Cooper tive Extension Service
and the Berrien Community
Foundation.
