25 at brunch held at the
Benton Harbor Howard John-
n' restaurant. Serving in
1987-88 will be Virginia ivens
St. Jo ph Township, Chair;
Georgia Boggs iles Vice Chair;
ora Jefferson, Benton Town­
ship, Treasurer: and Gloria
Cleveland, Benton Harbor,
Secretary.
Barbara Maddox, Recording
Secretary for the Michigan
Democratic Party was a special
gue at the meeting. She has
just been appointed by Gov.
Blanchard to direct a ne
summer youth employment pro­
gram for ichigan. She invited
the group to participate in the
program, which will provide
young people ith 30 hours a
wee employment at minimum
w ge and place them with non­
profit organizations that can
provide supervision and trainin ,
according to Mrs. ivens.
The Caucus voted to meet
quarterly on the third Saturday
morning of every third month.
The next meeting will be July
18 1987. eetings will be
rotated when po sible around
the three counties covered by
the Caucus ( ass, Van Buren
and Berrien .
A Chair's Appreciation
Award was pre nted to Vir­
gima ivens, who initi ted
organization of the Caucus in
19 4 for "loyalty and devot­
ion to the goals of omen in
Democratic politics."
