If in dividuals would fir learn to separate what they need from what they want, then spend only on items they really need, they should have enough money left over to save and inve . Discipline require that you don't get a brand new $20,000 car with monthly p yments of $400.00 when you are only 22 years old, have a job paying $800.00 per month and want your friends to think you are successful! If the EED is transportation, why not fill that need for half the price! This would cut monthly payments to $200.00; leaving $200.00 avail able for ving and inve ing. . Let me tell you a little about each. 1. .. line - This is ju plain old SELF CONTROL! It' the ability to parate wants from needs. In di ting, the AVERAGE dieter plans to 10 weight but lac s the DIS CIPU E to cut down on e ting the rong foods. THEY CA BREAK THE EATING HABIT! 2. Patience - Thi is the ability to WAIT. 0 of the financially successful realize the benefits of waiting. The aver age person however, doesn't a " you qualify. Let' go bac to our dieting example. Many dieters expect to lose 100 pound in one week. They want succe overnight! Unfortunately, it just doesn't happen that quickly. A successful dieter realizer that even if it takes 10 year to 10 100 pounds, with the u of patience, they can make it! The average person ow this same lack of patience when it comes to financial success. Many are not willing to wait. They feel that somehow they may not live past the wee end, so they must spend all their hard earned money before some thing happen to them. Financial Succe to the aver age individual is achieved by winning the lottery, or receiv ing bags of money from the rear of a "Brinks" truck. They soon find that 20, 30, and 40 years la ter they are still hoping to get rich overnight. Financial Succe is having the patience to invest the $200.00 per month DID YOU o ... that I mentioned earlier and watch it grow to over $400,000 over 40 years (assuming 15% inter e ). Forty years ounds like a long time but mo of our senior ciitzens will assure you that the years go by very fast. In summary, financial success involve both discipline and patience.
