demy at u egon Community
College for the second year.
Dedicated to the develop­
ment of lea4ership skill in tho
individuals who have shown
themselves ready to accept chal­
lenging role in their careers
or in civic affairs, the Academy
operates under the cooperative
sponsorship of the Community
Services Offlce of Mu egon
Community College and" ew
Mu egon.
A series of ten se ns will
be offered every Tuesday morn­
ing from 7:00-9:30 a.m. begin­
ning September 30 and ending
with a graduation banquet on

junior colleges cro the nation
for a live national video tele­
conference originating in W
ington, D.C. on September 30.
Participating in th ne-way
video, two- ay audio interactive
program will be college leaders
along with administrator, gui­
dance counselors and faculty
members from Mu egon area
high schools. Host for the pro­
gram is the American Associ­
ation of Community and Junior
olleges, (AACJC).
The teleconference is de­
signed to strengthen working
partnerships between high
schools and community col­
leges and to develop tech­
prep associate degree programs
to meet the needs of high school
students who will not be or­
ing toward b ccalaureate
degrees.
Distinguished panelists on the
national program include Wil­
liam Brock, U.S. Secretary of
Labor; the Honorable Paul
Simon, U.S. Senator, Illinois;
Erne t Boyer, president, Car­
negie Foundation for the Ad­
vancement of Teaching; the

MUSKEGO - At it regular
monthly meetin on Wednesday,
September 17 the Mu egon
Community College Board of
Trustees approved the appoint­
ment of K ren A. Nelson to the
position of Dean of Student
Services.
The Dean of Student Ser­
vice position h been filled
on an interim basis since the
resignation of Dr. Preston Pul­
Iiams in 1984 who left Mu e­
gori for a po in Pennsylvania.
