writing effective cover letter.
That w the bject of the

important - the intervi

to p y clo attention to this
inform tion. Employer tend

If they say that they ill

determine who they will call

to hear from them ain. If
you don't hear from them by
that time, call them ain.
Be per istent - it's called letting
them kno that you want the
job.
You mu , in a very respect
ful way, put the interviewer
in a position where he or she
mu either interview you or tell
you that you won't be inter
viewed and tell you why. Thi
way, you don't wa te exce
time vying for a job that you
can't get. And, you find out if
there is me thing wrong with
your re me package, lit 0
change it. t the same time, be
critical. Li ten to the interview

or not their comments ar valid.
So, no you've got the inter
view. What do you do next?
Well, before the actual inter
view, you ould get a much
information as you c n on the
job you re pplying for d
the company 'for which you'd
like to ork. This i because
you ould be ible to "eak

the job; which you can't do if

Don't answer que ion that the
interviewer did not you.
For example, don't elaborate
on the que ion unless you are
ed to do . Why? Becau ,
you m y y the wrong thing
simply becau you are nervous
and becau you feel le
nervous hen there i noi
instead of silence.
At the intervie you ould
wear conservative clothing.
Don't have a wild hair yle,
braids should b very ne t,
you should not chew gum,
your shoe should be shined,
clothes ould be very ne t
and clean. I do not feel that
women should' ear pants in
certain office environment.
And, since you won't kno
the office environment before
you actually get to th office,
don't take a chance and wear
pants. 0 one should wear
jean or dungarees or" whatever
you wi to call them. And
remember, first impressions
count - 0 m e your If 100
good.
o after the intervie ,here's
what you should do. Fir t, the
day after the intervi , send
the interviewer a note thanking
for their time. Then, approx
imately five days after the
intervi w, you should call the
intervi wer and check on the
status of your applic tion. This,
of cour ,i if the interviewer
ha 't called you first. If,
after you speak to the inter
viewer, you are told that the
deci 'on hasn't been made - call
back veral days later. The
key to getting any job i per-
lstence. Let them no that
you want the job. Again, write
to me and I'll send you a Ii
of que tions that you can
at the intervi w and me sure
fire tactics to help get that
interview and job!
