proc ding against him. A U.S. District Judge denied
Alcee Hastings' requ t for a temporary restraining order.
The ou poken Hasting was acquitted in 1983 of soliciting
a bribe from convicted racketeers. Despite hs acquittal, a
five member judicial review panel recommended last
month that Judge Hasting be impeached on charges of
bribery and improper conduct.
DEATH SENTENCE FOR KLA S A
Montgomery, Ala.-The Alabama Supreme Court last
wee restored the death sentence against a Ku Klux
Klansman convicted in the 1981 killing of a young Blac
m n. The 19-year-old Blac youth was found hanging
lynch-style from a tree. Henry Francis Hays had been
sentenced to death in the murder of Michael Donald but an
appeals court reduced the sentence. The Supreme Court
restored the death penalty after prosecutors showed that
Hays decided to kill Donald at random in order to sho
th trength of the Klan in Alabama.
