nted comprehensive propo s
for setting up the center and
developin the network.
Rev. Clari Blackamore,
member of the ta fore , \
pre nted the proposal, tating:
"It ems to us that the center
ould be founded squarely on
the conviction that if free citi
zens of a democracy are pro
vided with full information and
participation, they will act in
the be t intere t of the com
munity. We do not anticipate
that the center will eng e in
any kind of political tivity.
It should be open to every citi
zen of any color, creed our
political belief. The center we
envi 'on will exist to inform
all of the people of what is
available to them, wh t is bein
done to revitalize Benton Har-
bor and to provide networ
in hich cooperating re idents
or to ether to m e Benton
Harbor a better pl ce to live."
The group decided to locate
th center, during it devleop
ment period, t 9

Of course Aunt Sara loved the inoitation. H1z0 uouldn't
like feeling 0 special that someone had the Governor invite
them for a visit. And really, don't UXJrry about hurting anyone's
feelings because Governor Blanchard will iraite as many
people as you'd like to have come. Plus they'll get lots of
iniormation on why Michigan is such a wonderful place to
pend a vacation. There'll even be a little something in the mail
for you -/ a copy of Michigan's 'lTlUl Planner. That way,
you'll know all the when's and where's of what's happeninq in
MicJtigan. knows, between you and Ow Governor, this
may tum out to be Michigan's best reuni.fnt ftJer.
