Selene Foundation there has been only a mall increase in the
numb r of Blac in the ience and engineering professions
ince 1976. The report ho that in 1984 Blacks accounted
for 2.3% of all ientis and engineer comp red to 1.6% in
1976. The cience Foundation report also found that women
are incr ing their number in the technical fields. Curren­
