EW HOTEL DEVELOPER
SELECTED
The Benton Harbor city commission voted unani­
mously Feb. 18, to grant an option on riverfront pro­
perty to aryland hotel developer, Marshall Man­
agement Inc. The ite is south of the boat launch and
had been optioned to Kalamazoo attorney Darrel
J cobs for PopcornJennys. mission also voted
to sell the boat launch to th IC igan Department of
Sod I Services. arshall is to pay $10,000 for the six
month option on the three acres. Total purchase price
ill be around 100,000. The D R price is not yet
agreed upon, but DNR has allocated $1.3 million for a
comprehensive riverfront development,

Benton Twp. Supervisor Larry ielsen announced at
the Twp. Feb. 18 session that the former Disco 2000
building will be leased to the ity of Benton Harbor for a
nominal fee to be used as headquarters for the PAL box­
ing program.

On March 11, the Benton Twp. Board of Trustees will be
presented with option for additional office space. The
St. Jo eph fum of Allegretti Architects and Engineers

needs and options.

The city of Benton Harbor adopted plans and pro-
. cedures for relocating residents and businesses affected
by the proposed orth of ain Industrial Park develop­
ment. The plan outlines procedures for informing and
relocating tho e affected and is required by state and
federal law. The city purchased ix parcels of land in the
