Step four is to note ALL
negative credit information even
if it is ccurate. The re on for
thi r simple: the law allows
you to challenge Y infor-
m tion held on you by credit
reporting agency. Once you
challenge the information in
writing, it is the responsibility
of the agency to "verify"
that it information is correct
by do ble checking it with
the firm that filed the negative
information on you in th first
place.
This proce may work in
your f vor bee use frequently
companies don't keep infor
mation on de d" accounts after
three years and thus will not •
verify th neg tive inform tion.
In addition, the law requires
that the verifi tion take place
within "reasonable period of
time."
Thu , if the company that
originally filed negative infor
m ti n on you d not verify
it within 20 working day or
the edit reporting agency
UST eliminate the neg tive
inform tion.
Remember, you can art
the proces of credit repair by
getting copy of your credit
report and challenging inac
curate, out-dated and old
negative information appearing
in the report.
