Does a doctrine hold up internally?
Can it meet the test of its own criteria?
For example, if Christian says that
God is generous and that God did all
these things, the question I ould like to

things happen? People would say that
this is a question of free will, but you
kno ,that's debatable. It is a question
of the character of God. Whether or
Jesu was really peace-loving man and
whether or not he as a kind. and

So I don't want to live under that fear
and threat. I anted something mo
rational, r e respect for other human .
That is why I turned to African tradition
al religion, which pushes emphasis ·on
life here and only here. I began to study
Egyptian theo ogy and extract from it be
yond th piritualii m. I extract from it
the social morality of ho you live with
our brother and ister.
Th real test for m , of morality nd
pirituality and in the final analy is of
religion, i ho it works to unite men and
om n in the orld and ho it betters
our live nd rai us spiritually beyond
th animal orld. And it doesn't seem
that Christians have a good record of
that. It's the Christians that enslaved us.
