go.of extra tax
By Kri in H y
COVERT The Covert
Township Bo rd voted at the
Sept. 9 meeting, not to collect
an extra 5 000 to 6000
in property tax revenues.
This is the fourth year in
a row that the board has de
cided against trying to block a.
tax rollback caused by the
Headlee Amendment. If the
board had decided to collect
the extra money, it would have
had to hold a referendum.
Su h an election would have
cost about $1,200, according
to Supervi or Jerry Sarno. And
the extra taxes would have
amounted to between 5,000
and 6,000, he said.
In other busine the bo rd
accepted the revised zoning
ordinance ubmitted by the
Township Planning Com-
mission. ajor change incJude
