dinner hosted by Dr. nd Mrs.
Leon Smith on Dec. 14. attend­
ed by 75 gue ts.

Light Baptist Church the wed­
ding ceremony was repeated,
with Rev. James Whiteside
officiating. Best man was
Rev. Amos Picken Maid of
honor was Mrs. Darlene Pickens;
bride maids and groom men
were: Rev. and . olcm a n
Gilliand, Rev. and Mr. Georgc
van, and Mr. and Mr. Ticc
allo ay. Flower iris were
hegncy Ea ley and Delicia
Jamison. The ring bearer
wa La Georger Smith.
arvin Smith gave thc bride
away and over 200 guests parti­
cipated in the beautiful event.
Rev. Smith and Mr . Smith
stated the event was held not
only to celebrate their 50
year of marriage but it was
their intent to demonstrate
that the family is the root of
our ociety and th t loving
sincere committent to each
other is what creates happy
marriages and happy families.
