Grace United hands

Thanksgiving ceremony as held
Sunday, ov. 18 to mark the
turnover of the Grace United
ethodist Church building and
parsonage to Hope United
ethodist.
Grace pastor Rev. Fred Ham­
lin said his church was disband­
ing due to declining member­
ship.
Hope' United Methodist
Church was formed about two
years ago under the leadership
of Rev. Melvin William.
Hope's iforrner home was a
rented building at 224 Pipe tone
St. in the city.
According to Rev. Hamlin,
"the dream became a reality
and the bond between Rev.
;.'Hliams and myself grew. God

The pre ent Grace Church ha

.and dates back to the early
1900' .
Commis ioner Arnold Bolin,
pre ented an appreciation award
and a letter of recognition on

Some 300 people attended
the "thank giving" service hicb
was held at Grace.
