gon County 4-H Black History
Committee is no taking orders
for the 1985 'Salute to the
Black ayers" calendar.
.The calendar is a unique and
co tinuing educational ries
which highlight the accom
plishments of the nation's Black
mayors. The 1985 edition will
contain the following features:
-A complete up-to-date state
by state listing of the nation's
266 Black mayors.
-Detailed listing of impor
tant dates in Black History.
=Cornplete U.S. Black popu
lation breakdown by state and
region.
-A "special profile" on the
nation's first major city Blac
mayor.
-The only calendar offering
a unique gment of pre ent
day Black Heritage.
-A creative approach to
learning about our nation's top
leaders.
The funds raised by the
4-H Black Hi tory Committee
will be used to hold cultural
a arene workshop and for
scholarships to youth attending
out-of-county workshops.
In 1984, the Committee
spo sored a Black History Work
shop during Black History
month with over 100 partici
pants ttending 8 workshops.
As part of Black History month,
a 4-H youth Talent and Style
Show was held at the
M.A.P. C nter in u kegon
Heights.
