Out in V'an Bur n County
e have to dmit that e are a little
o to understand some time but event
ually do or their y in and
then our mind snap on them . e a steel
trap. To wit - for some time e ha e
been ondering hy nobody had been
able to win that big valuable prize by
coming up with the be way to tell
Van Buren County Democrat from
Van Buren County Republican.
. e read veral of the papers and
e y submitted and we ept noticing
that most of them were very good - well
'd out, thoughts ell formulated,
_.1"!1 ........... nts ell organized - up to
point and once that point reached
they all seemed to get hazy, eva . e -
like they didn't _ nt to go any further
or they me something but didn't want
to say it out loud.
e ept ondering hy would all of
the obviously brilliant peop e come
to a halt t the same spot, like an invis
ible b rrior had been p ced cro the
ro d. e called veral of them, but they
didn't even ant to talk about it.

this picture and article, the picture
was of the on ( e thour ) Democrat

they knew that it wa just a shell game,
cruel joke, a farce and they anted to

hat people have been trying to tell us,
"There ain't no such animal as a Van

any people have been . looking for
ways to save tate money and (according
to the Senator who spo e to m off the

have found the perfect plan! Don't
cut the amount of the GA chec back,
just cut them off altogether! This way
the GA people have a choice of (1) Get
a job (2) move in with relative or (3)
leave the state. Then the state will have
money to raise legislative salarie or me
other useful purpo .
If any of them get caught stealing

all to:
lik food or rent the respon ibility for
arresting and putting them in jail will go
to the city or county wh re they live.
It won't co any tate money and hil
we don't like to be all ft and nti
mental there is humanitarian' de to
this too. If the people are only getting
$200.00 month we kno that in the
time they cannot afford decent place
to live and sufficent food all e re
doing by letting them y on GA i
prolonging their anguish and ffering.
The only decent thing to do' to let
them arve right no and get it over
with.
Then there . the patriotic angle.
Russia . building all of th clear
- Bomb that they plan to drop over here
killing millions of people. By rving
off all of the poor people we will be t
them to the punch. They will have pent
all of that money and when they drop
the bomb there will only be few people
left to kill. The joke will really be on
them!
This is an exampl of the kind of
thinking done by our state nator -
remember them in your prayer - o.k.,
o.k. then remember- them on election
day.
FREEOO OF THE PRESS also
mean freedom to not print what you
don't want to. It is truly phenominal
that after all of this time of flying up nd
down the country, making all of tho
peeches, all of the appearance, up
setting of all of the political polls, win
ning the debate that mo of America'
daily newspapers, radio and television
ation know nothing about Rev. J c -
son's Platform; Program or Plan for
the country. They know two things:
(1) He called ome Jewish peop e, "Hy
mie". (2) Somebody in tb PUSH
organiz tion " ole" some money. And,
oh ye - he i a Black Preacher.
e owe it to ou lves, our children
and the future of this country to refu
to be intimidated by thi Con piracy of
Silence, ews Blac out, Attempted
Br . or hatever you ant to call
can overcome this by utilizing
th se g that we control - our
chure s club, social and civic organi
zations.
IF ALL OF US in the 4th Congres-

in the Republican Primary - or - If all
of us in the 2nd County Commi . oner
District ould sit out the Primary but go
y out and vote for an Independen for
Election it ju t might get som folks'
to thinking that our votes do mean orne
thing. It might sho us that th ca ing
or withholding of our vote can determine
who is elected or defe ted for om
offices or which millage or bond i sues
