Dear Editor:
Being used to reading good artie
orthy of print in your newspaper, I
a very disappointed in the poem,
"A Blac Woman", that you published
several eeks ago. To me. it wad
rogatory and meaningle piece of liter t
ure and highly unsuit ble for a Blac
oriented ne spaper. Bl ck worn n,
the poem was insulting and degrading.
It as neither complimentary or inspir-
ing to Blac omen or to the Bl ck race.
I do not kno what me ge the poet

but it did not strike a pleasing note with
me. Also, the fact that The Citizen

BLACK MA
Som time his spirit low
And his heart full of hate
And through it all
Hi love alway conquered
And made a oothing balm
F or his doubts and hi fear
A hundred medals
He de rves for endurance
To ha e come so long way
ithout much re urance
And he alway remember ,
Though his che t is full with pride
That h would have never made it
ithout a BLACK WO at his side!
