the world while He went off to a better
pi ceo H knew that e were going to
get bogged down in lot of tupid
details. t e when I went into one
of the towns over on the other . de of
the county the 'native" were up in

up in the treet but had to stop because
the i ue that they ere fighting about
as intricate that it had to be decided
on person-to-person ba 0 • One family
arted to build a moat around their

they d· greed nd a fa a the husband

fighting in the nur ry ..
I have been going into that town
for years, well kno n by everybody
over there but la t Thursday when I
came out of' 0 dy Richard' Rusty
diator Repair Rebuilders (we also
replace and refurbi raggedy radio)"
and started ero the street to "Burly
Ben' - Baked Beans, B own Bread and
Braised Beef Bri et Boutique", they
arted throwing rocks at me. I ondered
why, I started asking why, but no
body would even talk to me. It seems
that the people who hang out in those
two business establishments had taken
.different ide in th gre t con trover ity
and neither one peaking to anybody
who spoke to the other . de. Finally I
bribed a little boy by offering him a
bite of my noodl sandwich. He told
m th t at a political rally the week be
fore one of the candidates h d every
body going his way until one of the local
citizens h ppened to e one of the
campaign worker making the peanut
butter and jelly sand ich , put the
jelly on the bread fir. aturally he
complained, he said th t the peanut
butter should go on first. Hi friend
cro the table heard it and id 0,
the wor er was right,"
o you kno ho it i at political
rally, most people are on edge, in an
agitated tate of mind nd thinking
that they kno more than anybody
else about anything. So one thing led to
another and another an another, for
everybody who beleived that the jelly
should go first there s another who
believed just strongly that the pea
nut bu ter should go fir t.
Before long they were fighting in the
street, throwing roc , foul language
and ripe garbage on their opponents,
neighbors and ex friends. I could tell
you about how they had to call in the
State Police and the . ational Guard
before order w finally restored, but
orin that part of the county they
suppre this kind of information. The
local people don't tell u about their
problems, the sherrif's deputi are never
going to tell us ho "they" act over there
and there is no radio tation over there to
report the new - even if I told you what
happen you prob bly ould believe
what they" y r ther than what I say
I'm going to le ve it alone. But like
I id I thin th t I kno now wby
