ST. JOSEPH - An inque will be
" held in the January 6 shooting death
of Ru 11 Sayle, according to Berrien
County Prosecutor Paul L. Maloney.
In making the announcement, alo­
n y said, "I am unable to conclude at
this time whether �e death of Ru 11
Sayles was the result of criminal action
by 0 or more p rSoDS or whether it
wa justified under ichigan law."
Maloney explained that an inquest
is a civil proce ding. A jury of six per­
sons will be selected to hear evidence
concerning the circumstance surround­
ing the shooting 'which occurred at the
East End "Bar in Benton Township.
Chief Disttict Judge Hugh W. Blac
signed an order scheduling the inque
to begin February 22 at 9 a.m. before
him as pre . ding judge.
Chief trial attorney Jack Banyon will
conduct the in�uest for the prosecutor's
office, aloney said.
Some 15 witnesse are expected to
r be called before the inquest jury .
Maloney said, 'The J iy will make
