bined purchasing power that exceeds
$140 billion annually. In many
industries, our con- .
sumer dollars are
more than the margin
of profi .
Because we pay
taxes, we have a right
to demand our share
of a $750 billion
public economy, but
there is also a 3
trillion private
economy that is im­
mediately vulnerable
to our consumer
appetites,

votes to demand our
share from the public
economy, we must
use our dollars to
fight for dignity and
demand our share from the private
